Role Overview
The Sales Compensation Lead will own sales compensation end-to-end, from strategy and design to field communication, dispute resolution, forecasting of commission expense, and the systems that turn closed deals and usage into accurate, trusted payouts. Reporting to the VP of Revenue Operations, you'll extend an existing in-house commissions stack, partnering closely with FP&A, HR/People Ops, Sales leadership, and Data Engineering.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan and design sales compensation strategy
- Communicate field compensation plans effectively
- Resolve commission disputes promptly
- Forecast commission expense accurately
- Develop and maintain systems for payout workflows
- Work with FP&A, HR/People Ops, Sales leadership, and Data Engineering to ensure seamless integration of compensation processes
What You Bring
- Proven experience in owning commissions in a usage-based or hybrid commercial model
- Hands-on experience with agentic tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent
- A deep understanding of consumption and hybrid commit + usage economics
- Strong collaboration skills to work across multiple departments
- Experience in designing compensation plans that drive the right field behavior without breaking Finance trust
