Role Overview

A Story House casual is an integral member of our team. Our casual educators help cover programming, sick days, and lunch covers as well as step in for longer periods covering holiday or even a brand-new position. For the continuity of the children and security of our staff, we do our best to roster in advance. However, we appreciate your availability at short notice.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Covering programming sessions as needed
  • Substituting for colleagues during sick days or lunch breaks
  • Taking on longer-term roles when required, such as covering holidays or new positions
  • Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children
  • Supporting the team in delivering high-quality early learning experiences

What We're Looking For

  • A passion for working with young children
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure and at short notice
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment
  • Experience in early childhood education is beneficial but not mandatory
