The Opportunity

We are seeking applications from experienced educators to fill the position of Educator for the Grade 5 Intermediate Phase at Jan Kriel School. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to providing quality education to learners who experience barriers to learning. This is a full-time, substantive position with an appointment date of October 1, 2026.

Your Responsibilities

• Teach Grade 5 Intermediate Phase curriculum in line with the CAPS guidelines
• Create and maintain a positive learning environment that accommodates diverse learners
• Develop lesson plans and assessments to support student progress
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and share best practices
• Participate in professional development activities as required by the school

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching Intermediate Phase (Grades 4-7)
• Demonstrated ability to work with learners who have barriers to learning
• Strong understanding and implementation of the CAPS curriculum
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A valid Teaching Practising Certificate or equivalent qualification
