Centria Autism invites applications for a Spanish Speaking Behavior Technician based in Schoolcraft, Michigan. This full-time opportunity lets dedicated professionals guide children on the autism spectrum toward greater independence every day.
Position Summary
As a Spanish Speaking Behavior Technician with Centria Autism in Schoolcraft, Michigan, you will deliver personalized support that helps young clients build essential abilities. You will follow protocols created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and apply proven strategies that strengthen communication, friendships, and self-care routines while decreasing challenging actions. Comprehensive training prepares forces even if prior exposure is limited, so passion counts more than résumés. Because sessions stay active, comfort with frequent movement matters: standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, lifting, and carrying children or materials up to 50 pounds are part of the routine. The hourly pay falls between $17.00 and $20.00. At the close of each shift you leave knowing you improved a child’s trajectory and strengthened family life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct one-on-one sessions that follow each child’s individualized behavior plan under BCBA supervision
- Teach communication methods, social interactions, and daily living steps using research-supported approaches
- Track progress and reduce interfering behaviors through consistent, positive intervention
- Maintain physical readiness for active play and repositioning throughout the day
- Collaborate openly with families and clinical team members to keep goals aligned
Who We're Looking For
- Genuine desire to help children with autism reach higher potential
- Patience, empathy, and readiness to function as a reliable teammate
- Minimum age of 18 and a high-school diploma or GED
- Willingness to secure CPR, First Aid, and a current tuberculosis screening
- Clear pre-employment background check results
- Physical capacity to assume varied postures and lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
- Preferred but not mandatory: earlier time as a behavioral technician, classroom aide, tutor, CNA, caregiver, home-health aide, or any role serving children with learning differences
