Position Summary

In the Spanish Speaking Behavior Technician position at Centria Autism in Vicksburg, Michigan, you will provide focused one-on-one assistance to children with autism by following individualized plans created under Board Certified Behavior Analyst direction. Training covers all needed methods so dedicated candidates can start strong even without background experience, yet success requires patience, teamwork, and readiness for active sessions. Children often move freely, meaning comfortable performance of standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, lifting, and carrying children or objects up to 50 pounds is essential. The pay range for this Spanish Speaking Behavior Technician opening is $17.00 to $20.00, varying with qualifications, performance, experience, and seniority. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized behavior intervention strategies during individual sessions with children who have autism, always guided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Build communication, social, and daily living abilities while addressing and reducing interfering behaviors through proven approaches.
  • Respond fluidly to the unpredictable and sometimes challenging nature of working with active children.
  • Maintain physical readiness across positions that include sitting, squatting, bending, and lifting or carrying weights reaching 50 pounds.
  • Partner closely with colleagues so every interaction advances positive developmental outcomes for young clients.

Requirements

  • Deep commitment to supporting children with autism
  • Patience, compassion, and proven ability to collaborate on a team
  • Minimum age of 18
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid certification, and a Tuberculosis test when one has not been completed in the previous year
  • Capacity to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to move through varied positions such as sitting, squatting, and bending
  • Strength to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish

Prior work as a Behavior Technician, with children who have autism or similar learning needs, as a teacher’s aide, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide is helpful but not required.
