Personal Care Specialist

Green Thumb is hiring a Personal Care Specialist in Allentown, Pennsylvania to welcome guests warmly and connect them with the products and approaches that best fit their individual needs inside our retail space.

About the Role

In this full-time Personal Care Specialist position at our Allentown location you will build personal connections with every patient and customer from arrival through departure. Drawing on deep product knowledge and a friendly, upbeat presence, you will guide people toward safe, effective selections while helping keep daily operations smooth, stocked, and fully compliant. You will rotate through front-of-house, back-of-house, and maintenance stations as assigned and uphold high standards of cleanliness, security, and guest privacy throughout every shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients and customers throughout their visit in a close-interaction retail setting
• Educate each person on products, consumption options, and safety as a natural part of the conversation
• Recommend individualized, responsible regimens based on current menu knowledge and keep that knowledge continuously refreshed
• Help create a positive, communicative, guest-focused workplace culture
• Verify accuracy of order deliveries
• Support the management team so store operations, maintenance, guest information handling, and compliance with rules run correctly
• Apply and enforce local and state cannabis regulations
• Keep the sales floor properly stocked and the store appearance neat and compliant
• Maintain required hard-copy files
• Follow all security procedures and safety compliance steps
• Cover assigned stations that may include check-in, sales floor, various point-of-sale channels (kiosk, in-store, pre-order), curbside and roll-thru service, fulfillment, receiving, replenishment, inventory counts, and general dispensary upkeep, plus other duties as needed

Who We're Looking For

• At least one year of customer-service experience, with preference for specialty customer-facing retail backgrounds
• Ability to work varying shifts including mornings, days, nights, and weekends to meet business needs
• Reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance
• Age 21 or older
• Pass all required background checks, including state-specific cannabis employment requirements
• Hold a valid driver’s license or state ID
• Stay fully compliant with all legal and company rules for cannabis industry work (prior cannabis experience is not required)
• Demonstrate consistent excellent customer-service skills
• Show eagerness to learn more about cannabis, cannabinoids, related systems, company products, and therapies (previous knowledge preferred)
• Build effective working relationships with every coworker
• Listen carefully and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing across different audiences
• Bring prior experience with point-of-sale systems
• Understand applicable cannabis laws, safety rules, municipal codes, company policies, and standard operating procedures
• Follow directions and incorporate constructive feedback from managers
• Operate with professionalism and integrity, including careful handling of confidential information and HIPAA requirements
• Physically perform for full shifts: move throughout the dispensary, remain stationary when needed, converse with individuals and groups, operate POS systems and standard office software (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email), prepare orders by moving and placing products, review detailed information such as birth dates and orders, independently move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds, and position yourself to access storage areas
• Work comfortably in a patient- and customer-facing environment, sometimes outdoors in varying or adverse weather, with possible exposure to cannabis and related allergens
