About This Position

As Head of People at Arine you will set the vision for talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness while working on-site in San Francisco, CA. This full-time position gives you ownership of the entire people function so the business can scale with strong leadership, clear processes, and a healthy workplace. You will partner closely with executives and managers to align people initiatives with company objectives and create an environment where every team member can thrive.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and execute the overall people strategy covering talent acquisition, retention, performance management, and leadership development
• Oversee full-cycle recruiting to attract and hire top talent for critical roles while refining interview processes and employer branding
• Build and maintain programs supporting employee engagement, inclusion, recognition, and continuous feedback
• Partner with leaders on organizational design, succession planning, workforce planning, and change management initiatives
• Manage employee relations matters, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and drive fair and consistent people practices
• Lead performance review cycles, goal-setting frameworks, and career-pathing conversations that support growth
• Develop and own the people budget, vendor relationships, and HR technology stack for efficient service delivery
• Coach managers on people leadership skills and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and belonging

What We're Looking For

• Proven leadership experience heading or substantially influencing a people or human resources function
• Demonstrated success building scalable talent acquisition, performance, and compensation processes
• Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and best practices relevant to California workplaces
• Ability to partner strategically with senior leaders while remaining hands-on with day-to-day people operations
• Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills that build trust across all levels of the organization
• Experience implementing or optimizing HR systems, analytics, and process improvements that drive measurable results
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced credentials such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred
• Passion for creating people-centered workplaces where high performance and well-being coexist
