About This Position

The Assistant Production Supervisor at Thorne works side by side with current production leaders to develop the capabilities required for overseeing encapsulation teams in Summerville, SC. Individuals in this role support the transformation of blended materials into finished capsules while reinforcing product quality, equipment reliability, throughput, and strict observance of cGMP and other manufacturing protocols. The schedule consists of 12-hour weekend periods that alternate between Friday–Sunday one week and Thursday–Sunday the following week, making this an excellent entry into Thorne careers for those ready to grow into broader production leadership.

Core Duties

• Coordinate daily production activities within the encapsulation department
• Guide and develop operators through real-time coaching and feedback
• Identify and resolve operational obstacles that affect flow or quality
• Champion continuous-improvement actions that raise efficiency and consistency
• Direct the performance of specialized machinery converting formulations into capsules
• Uphold rigorous standards for finished-product quality, equipment upkeep, and output targets
• Ensure every process remains safe, compliant, and aligned with cGMP requirements
• Build practical leadership skills that prepare the incumbent for a Production Supervisor role
