Mechanic 2

Mezzetta is hiring a full-time Mechanic 2 in American Canyon, California to maintain and support the equipment that keeps our specialty food production running smoothly. This position is essential to minimizing operational downtime and ensuring our olives, peppers, and sauces reach customers in excellent condition.

Role Overview

At the heart of our American Canyon manufacturing operation are highly reliable equipment systems and the skilled technicians who keep them running. As a Mechanic 2, you'll be the backbone of production continuity, performing the technical work that allows us to fulfill customer orders efficiently and maintain our high food safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Execute start-ups and line changeovers on our primary production lines
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues independently
• Repair and maintain a portfolio of seven major pieces of production equipment
• Guide and mentor junior mechanics on proper equipment operation and repair procedures
• Maintain precise documentation of all maintenance activities, parts inventory, and work orders
• Maintain compliance with all food safety and facility standards including PPE, GMP, FPQ, and HACCP requirements
• Complete mandatory personal safety and food safety training through our learning platform

Who We're Looking For

• A high school diploma or GED (preferred)
• At least two years of hands-on mechanical or electrical experience, or relevant technical coursework
• Solid working knowledge of standard hand tools and power equipment
• Understanding of industrial safety protocols and lock-out/tag-out (LO/TO) procedures
• Ability to take direction from supervisors and department leadership while working independently
• Comfort working in a food processing environment with temperature fluctuations, occasional strong odors, and physical demands including standing, climbing, and working on elevated surfaces
