Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential energy sector client in Paris who is building a greenfield algorithmic trading platform for battery energy storage systems. This strategic project helps stabilize the electrical grid by injecting power during consumption peaks.
As a C# Developer on this newly-formed team, you will contribute to a robust, scalable, high-performance solution managing assets across Europe and the United States. Your work will include:
- Building the trading engine to enable algo-trading on Intraday energy markets
- Implementing complex optimization models that factor in weather data, market prices, and consumption profiles
- Developing a secure, performant backtesting platform for traders to validate algorithmic strategies
- Contributing to architecture designed to scale from battery storage to renewable energy portfolios including wind, hydro, and thermal assets
Technical challenges: high performance computing, distributed systems, real-time trading robustness, international scalability
Stack: C# (.NET Core), service-oriented architecture, cloud infrastructure, optimization algorithms
What We're Looking For
We seek a C# Software Engineer motivated by the technical challenges of energy transition and financial markets:
- Master's degree (Bac+5) from an engineering school or university
- Strong command of the C# /.NET ecosystem with focus on code performance and scalable architectures
- Entrepreneurial mindset—you thrive building new tools from scratch
- Experience in front-office finance/trading or the energy sector is a significant plus
- Autonomy, curiosity about complex business problems, and ability to collaborate with traders and analysts
