Werkstudent Cyber Risk & Compliance (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential energy sector organization seeking a working student to support their Cyber Risk & Compliance team. In this role, you will help the Digital Security Team systematically identify, assess, and manage cyber risks at the intersection of business and IT.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the evaluation of new applications against security requirements
• Ensuring security controls are integrated into solutions following secure-by-design principles
• Conducting regular reviews of existing applications and processes
• Identifying and assessing IT and cyber risks
• Maintaining and updating the risk register and tracking remediation measures
• Supporting audits such as ISO 27001 assessments
• Preparing reports and documentation for internal and external audits

This position offers practical experience in cyber risk management, ISO 27001, and cyber security governance within a real business environment.

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a currently enrolled student in Computer Science, Business Informatics, IT Security/Cyber Security, Business Administration with IT focus, or comparable fields.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Strong interest in IT risk management, IT architecture, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST CSF), and cyber security
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Analytical thinking and structured working approach
• Interest in understanding connections between business operations and IT systems
• Self-motivation and willingness to learn
• Strong communication skills and team orientation
• Very good German and good English language skills

Preferred:

• Initial experience in IT or information security is ideal but not required
