Placement Specialist II (7764)

Lutheran Services Florida seeks a dedicated Placement Specialist II to join our team in Fort Myers, Lee County. In this full-time role, you'll coordinate and arrange out-of-home placements for children who need safe, stable care in licensed foster homes.

Position Summary

As a Placement Specialist II at Lutheran Services Florida, you'll play a vital role in our foster care operations. Working directly with children, families, foster parents, caseworkers, and community partners, you'll match children with licensed foster families that can provide the care and environment they need. This is hands-on work that creates immediate, meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children and the stability of families across Fort Myers and Lee County.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate placement referrals and assess each child's specific needs, background, and circumstances
• Match children with qualified, licensed foster families based on capacity, compatibility, and available resources
• Coordinate placement logistics and communicate with all parties involved to facilitate smooth transitions
• Maintain detailed, organized case files and documentation to meet regulatory requirements
• Follow up on placements to monitor stability and address any emerging concerns
• Collaborate with caseworkers, biological families, and foster parents to support placement success

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience in child welfare, foster care, social services, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Demonstrated commitment to child safety and family welfare
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and navigate sensitive situations with professionalism
