Role Overview

As a Public Transit Travel Trainer at MTM in the Baltimore area, you'll deliver essential instruction that removes barriers to mobility. Many people in our community face challenges using public transit—whether it's unfamiliarity with routes, concerns about fare payment, or uncertainty about navigating stations and vehicles. Your work directly addresses this gap, empowering riders with the knowledge and confidence they need to travel independently and reach their destinations reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions on transit route navigation, schedule reading, and trip planning
• Teach fare payment systems, ticketing options, and how to use transit cards or mobile payment solutions
• Demonstrate proper use of transit vehicles, stations, and accessibility features
• Build rider confidence through patient, clear instruction tailored to individual learning needs
• Provide follow-up support and reinforcement to help participants apply their training independently
• Develop customized training approaches for diverse audiences and varied backgrounds
• Maintain detailed records of training sessions and participant progress

• Strong communication and teaching ability; skilled at explaining systems clearly to diverse audiences
