Combined Metals Company is hiring a Production Control specialist for our South Elgin, Kane County facility. This full-time position offers the opportunity to manage production workflows, optimize output quality, and ensure operational excellence in a specialized advanced materials manufacturing environment.
The Opportunity
Join Combined Metals Company as a Production Control professional in one of the region's leading engineered metals operations. You'll coordinate production schedules, monitor process performance, and ensure that our stainless steel coil, sheet, specialty alloy strip, foil, and wire products consistently meet rigorous quality and delivery standards. Based in South Elgin, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, detail-focused manufacturing environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Schedule and sequence production batches to align with customer orders and facility capacity
- Track work-in-progress and monitor production metrics against daily, weekly, and monthly targets
- Coordinate communication between scheduling, production, quality, and shipping teams
- Maintain accurate production logs and generate status reports for operations leadership
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, recommending process improvements
- Support quality assurance by documenting specifications and monitoring compliance
- Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation across production lines
Who We're Looking For
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Comfortable with production management software, spreadsheets, and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments

- High school diploma or equivalent; manufacturing or technical background preferred
