Shift Lead

Role Overview

As a Shift Lead at Walgreens, you'll be responsible for managing store operations during your assigned shifts in the absence of store management. You'll oversee critical opening and closing procedures, maintain store readiness, and ensure all systems and processes run smoothly to support both customers and the team.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including activating all required systems and verifying store readiness
• Manage cash handling operations, including processing cash drops to the safe and providing change to customers
• Supervise the front-of-store and stock room to ensure they meet operational and presentation standards
• Process customer transactions including returns, refunds, and order corrections with accuracy
• Coordinate with delivery personnel and manage the back-door access for incoming stock and shipments
• Maintain accurate records of all cash and financial transactions throughout your shift
• Support team members and provide guidance on store procedures and customer service standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous retail or pharmacy experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• Strong cash handling and inventory management skills with attention to accuracy
• Ability to operate point-of-sale systems and store management software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and support team members
• Physical capability to work a full shift, including standing and moving throughout the store
• Reliable attendance and punctuality to ensure consistent shift coverage
• Customer service orientation and problem-solving mindset
