HVAC Technician

Position Summary

Smart Care is looking for a hands-on HVAC Technician to become a key member of our service team. You'll diagnose system problems, perform preventive maintenance, handle emergency repairs, and help customers understand their heating and air conditioning options. This role requires someone who takes pride in workmanship, communicates clearly with customers, and stays current with industry standards and equipment advances.

Core Duties

• Install new HVAC systems and components at customer locations
• Troubleshoot heating and cooling system malfunctions using diagnostic tools
• Perform routine maintenance, including filter changes, refrigerant checks, and system calibration
• Clean, adjust, and repair compressors, motors, thermostats, ductwork, and other equipment
• Discuss air quality solutions and system upgrades with customers to match their comfort needs
• Manage system decommissioning and proper end-of-life disposal of equipment
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings to customers and dispatch

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• EPA Section 608 certification (or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces
• Physical capability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work overhead
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
• Prior HVAC experience is preferred but not required for motivated candidates
