Respiratory Care Practitioner II – Pediatrics

Methodist Hospital in Solms, Comal County is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner II - Pediatrics to join our clinical team. Position Summary

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II - Pediatrics provides specialized respiratory therapy services to pediatric patients in accordance with evidence-based clinical standards. You will manage complex respiratory conditions in young patients, coordinate care with our multidisciplinary medical team, and uphold the standards of safety and clinical effectiveness that define our practice. Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor pediatric patients' respiratory status and respond promptly to clinical changes
• Perform and interpret diagnostic respiratory assessments appropriate to pediatric patients
• Prepare, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment and ventilator systems
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other clinical professionals on integrated respiratory care plans
• Document patient care activities accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory and hospital standards
• Mentor junior respiratory therapists and support departmental training initiatives

Who We're Looking For

• Current Respiratory Therapy Licensure or equivalent state certification
• Proven clinical experience in pediatric respiratory care or equivalent practice setting
• Proficiency with pediatric ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and monitoring equipment
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity patient environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Commitment to continuous professional development and best practices in respiratory care
