Social Worker I (MSW) – Healthy Steps (Bilingual)

Rady Children's Hospital San Diego seeks a compassionate, Master's-level Social Worker (MSW) to join our pediatric care team at our Murrieta Hot Springs location in Riverside County. This full-time position serves families navigating complex health and social challenges, combining clinical expertise with advocacy and coordinated care planning.

Role Overview

As a Social Worker I (MSW) with the Healthy Steps program, you'll function as a direct clinical provider and care coordinator within an integrated, multidisciplinary health care environment. Your expertise in evidence-based social work practice will help children and their families access resources, overcome barriers to care, and build resilience during critical moments. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred to better serve our diverse patient population.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of pediatric patients and family systems
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and support plans aligned with medical and behavioral health goals
• Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and resource navigation for families in acute or complex situations
• Coordinate care and facilitate communication among physicians, mental health providers, and community organizations
• Serve as a patient and family advocate within hospital systems and broader health and social service networks
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation and collaborate with team members on ongoing case planning and discharge preparation

What You Bring

• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited program
• Current California LCSW licensure or eligible to apply for licensure
• Experience in pediatric, family, or hospital-based social work
• Strong ability to assess and respond to mental health and social needs across diverse, medically complex populations
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills (preferred)
• Excellent documentation and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to cultural differences and family-centered care principles
