Special Education Teacher Pool 2026-2027

New Caney Independent School District seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position is based in New Caney, where you'll work directly with students who have individualized education plans and provide specialized instruction in a supportive, inclusive campus environment.

What You'll Do

• Develop, implement, and modify individualized education plans (IEPs) collaboratively with parents, general educators, and district specialists
• Deliver differentiated, standards-aligned instruction tailored to each student's learning profile, disability category, and academic goals
• Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative measures; monitor and report outcomes to families and the IEP team
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusion and co-teach when appropriate
• Maintain detailed, compliant documentation of student performance, behavioral interventions, and IEP progress
• Support positive classroom behavior management and social-emotional development through evidence-based strategies

Who We're Looking For

• Valid Texas teaching certification with special education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)
• Demonstrated knowledge of special education law, LRE (least restrictive environment), and FAPE (free appropriate public education)
• Strong ability to communicate clearly with families, colleagues, and administrators
• Passion for differentiated instruction and equity in education
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple students' needs simultaneously
• Commitment to professional development and collaboration within the school community
