Fifth Third Bank, N.A. is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer in Lebanon, Warren County, for a full-time position originating residential mortgage loans and building client relationships through trusted financial guidance.

About the Role

As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you'll work directly with clients and external referral sources to evaluate, structure, and close residential first mortgage loans. You'll guide borrowers through the application and approval process, ensure compliance with lending standards, and identify opportunities to expand the bank's relationship with each client. This is a hands-on role where your expertise in mortgage products and customer service directly impacts both client outcomes and business growth.

What You'll Do

• Originate residential first mortgage loans from external referral partners and direct customer inquiries
• Conduct thorough financial analysis and credit reviews to assess loan eligibility and structure
• Explain loan products, terms, and requirements to clients in clear, jargon-free language
• Prepare and present loan proposals that meet both borrower needs and bank underwriting standards
• Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities with existing and new customers
• Manage the loan pipeline from initial consultation through closing, meeting sales targets and timelines
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all applications comply with regulatory requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and real estate professionals

What We're Looking For

• Valid residential mortgage loan originator license (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
• Proven experience originating or processing residential mortgage loans
• Deep knowledge of residential loan products, rates, and underwriting guidelines
• Strong sales ability and consultative approach to client relationships
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and meet performance objectives
