About the Role

The Surveyor II role is an intermediate-level position within our field surveying operations. Working under the guidance of senior surveyors, you'll take on greater responsibility for inspecting marine assets, documenting findings, and ensuring adherence to ABS Classification standards. Your work directly supports vessel owners, shipyards, and the broader maritime industry in maintaining safe, compliant operations.

What You'll Do

• Conduct systematic inspections of vessels during new construction, repair, conversion, and in-service phases
• Verify compliance with ABS Rules, regulations, and applicable international maritime standards
• Document inspection results, measurements, and technical observations in detailed reports
• Assess structural integrity, mechanical systems, and safety equipment aboard marine vessels
• Collaborate with shipyard personnel, naval architects, and vessel representatives to address findings
• Maintain accurate records and recommend remedial actions when required

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; some college or technical certification preferred
• Prior experience in marine surveying, shipyard inspection, naval architecture, or related maritime field
• Knowledge of ABS Classification standards, marine safety regulations, and vessel construction practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including vessel decks and confined spaces
• Valid U.S. passport and willingness to travel as operational needs require
• Proficiency in standard office tools and ability to learn internal surveying software systems
