About the Role

As National BRT & Multimodal Design Lead at CDM Smith, you'll direct the strategic planning, design, and delivery of Bus Rapid Transit and integrated multimodal transportation systems. This senior leadership position combines technical expertise with project direction to develop comprehensive transit solutions that address evolving mobility needs.

What You'll Do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams through BRT and multimodal transportation design projects
• Develop conceptual frameworks, feasibility assessments, and detailed implementation strategies
• Coordinate across municipal agencies, regional partners, and community stakeholders
• Guide technical design work from initial planning through construction documentation
• Champion transit-oriented design principles and multimodal integration best practices
• Navigate regulatory landscapes and maximize federal transit funding opportunities
• Mentor professional staff and foster knowledge sharing within the transportation practice

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation planning, or allied discipline
• Extensive background in transit design, BRT system development, or multimodal planning
• Proven track record leading major transportation planning and design projects
• Deep understanding of federal transit policy, funding structures, and regulatory requirements
• Strong project management capabilities and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency with transportation modeling software and design platforms
