HSE Specialist – Facilities

Acadian Contractors is seeking a dedicated HSE Specialist - Facilities to join our team in Abbeville, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. This is a full-time position for an experienced safety professional committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across our construction operations.

About the Role

As HSE Specialist - Facilities, you'll play a critical role in protecting our workforce and ensuring all operations meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You'll serve as a key member of our safety management team, overseeing health and safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across all job sites.

What You'll Do

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental management systems and procedures
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and behavioral-based safety observations across facilities
• Provide OSHA Construction training and ensure regulatory compliance with applicable safety standards
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
• Support construction, pipeline, and marine operations with site-specific safety planning and hazard mitigation
• Partner with project teams to identify risks in oil and gas construction environments
• Monitor compliance with behavioral-based safety management systems and best practices
• Maintain safety documentation, records, and performance metrics

What We're Looking For

• Working knowledge of oil and gas construction operations, including pipeline and marine work
• Solid understanding of behavioral-based safety management principles and implementation
• Familiarity with OSHA 501 Construction standards and other relevant safety regulations
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety best practices and environmental compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and training abilities
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced construction environments
