About the Role
This full-time fall internship offers direct experience in economic research, policy analysis, and geopolitical economics. You'll work within our Asian economics division, contributing to substantive research projects that inform policy discussions and public discourse on Asia-Pacific economic trends and U.S. strategic interests in the region.
What You'll Do
- Conduct original research on Chinese economic activity, outward investment trends, and corporate operations
- Monitor media coverage and develop briefings on Asian economic developments and policy changes
- Support ongoing analytical projects examining the Chinese economy and its regional and global implications
- Assist Senior Fellow Derek Scissors and team members with research compilation, data analysis, and writing support
- Contribute to publications, policy briefs, and research materials on Asian economics
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated interest in Asian studies, economics, or international affairs
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings clearly
- Curiosity about geopolitics, trade, investment, and economic policy
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
