Staff Investigator

NOV is hiring a Staff Investigator in Walnut Bend, Houston for a full-time position. This is a hands-on investigative role within the Investigations department, responsible for uncovering and documenting internal misconduct, fraud, and compliance violations.

About the Role

As Staff Investigator, you'll report directly to the Investigations Manager and play a central role in protecting NOV's integrity through thorough, impartial investigations. You'll manage the full lifecycle of internal inquiries—from initial assessment through evidence analysis and documented findings—while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to investigative standards.

What You'll Do

• Receive, review, and prioritize allegations submitted through the company Ethics Hotline and other reporting channels
• Conduct detailed investigations into claims of internal fraud, embezzlement, and financial misconduct
• Examine allegations of serious employee misconduct, including safety violations and policy breaches
• Investigate corruption and conflicts of interest across all levels of the organization
• Gather evidence through interviews, document review, data analysis, and site inspections
• Prepare comprehensive investigative reports with findings and recommendations
• Coordinate with Legal, HR, and other departments as investigations require
• Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations

What We're Looking For

• Investigation experience—corporate investigations, internal audit, law enforcement, or related field
• Strong investigative methodology and ability to follow evidence objectively
• Excellent interview skills and capacity to handle sensitive situations with professionalism
• Attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly and accurately
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Discretion and sound judgment in managing confidential information
• Knowledge of fraud examination, compliance requirements, or workplace investigation best practices is valued
