About the Role

The American Enterprise Institute is hiring a full-time Fall Intern to support Distinguished Senior Fellow Danielle Pletka and Senior Fellow Marc A. Thiessen in Washington, D.C. In this on-site position, you will contribute to the research powering their regular opinion columns, long-running projects, and public events. The work spans US foreign policy themes including the Middle East, China, and America's place on the world stage, with occasional explorations of domestic politics.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research to inform recurring opinion columns and editorials.
• Support long-term scholarly projects led by the fellows.
• Assist with preparation for events and related programming.
• Track and synthesize developments related to the Middle East, China, and US foreign policy.
• Provide background research on America's international role and, at times, domestic political issues.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in US foreign policy, international affairs, and communications.
• Solid research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks across columns, projects, and events.
• Available to work full-time on-site in Washington, D.C. for the fall term.
