Specialist, Credit Risk

BNY Mellon is seeking a Specialist, Credit Risk to join our Credit Risk team in Millvale, Allegheny County, near Pittsburgh. As a full-time member of our organization, you'll serve a critical oversight function, ensuring rigorous compliance and validation across our underwriting operations.

About the Role

The Specialist, Credit Risk position is integral to our risk management infrastructure. You'll function as an independent control layer, conducting thorough reviews of underwriting decisions and submissions. This role provides essential validation that underwriting practices align with our risk policies and regulatory requirements, supporting the integrity of our credit decisions across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Review and assess underwriting submissions prepared by our first and second line of defense teams
• Conduct independent administrative and compliance evaluations of underwriting decisions
• Validate adherence to established risk policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
• Document review findings, exceptions, and recommendations for remediation
• Collaborate with underwriting and risk management teams to address identified gaps
• Support continuous improvement of our underwriting review processes and controls

What We're Looking For

• Knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies and underwriting standards
• Understanding of loan underwriting processes and credit evaluation frameworks
• Strong compliance and regulatory awareness in financial services
• Analytical ability to review complex underwriting documentation
