About the Role
As Principal Sensor Systems Architect for Radar, you'll take ownership of advanced radar system architecture, driving innovation in sensor design, signal processing, and integrated sensing solutions. This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape next-generation radar capabilities while collaborating with world-class engineering teams and tackling some of the aerospace and defense industry's most complex technical challenges.
What You'll Do
- Define and own the technical architecture for radar sensor systems, from concept through fielded deployment
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams in the design and optimization of advanced radar capabilities
- Establish system requirements, performance specifications, and engineering standards for radar platforms
- Drive innovation in sensor technologies, signal processing algorithms, and system integration approaches
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and product teams to translate operational needs into sensor architectures
- Mentor junior engineers and establish technical best practices across radar system development
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies to maintain competitive advantage
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in radar systems architecture, sensor design, and signal processing fundamentals
- Demonstrated leadership in large-scale sensor systems programs or defense technology development
- Strong grasp of physics principles underlying modern radar technologies and performance trade-offs
- Experience managing complex system integration challenges in mission-critical environments
- Excellent communication skills for articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Security clearance eligibility (TS/SCI preferred, though not always required depending on assignment)
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical discipline
