As a Certified Peer Support Specialist with Horizon Peers, you'll work directly with individuals navigating mental health and recovery challenges. This full-time position places you at the heart of peer-led support, where your authentic experience and interpersonal skills help create meaningful connections and foster lasting hope in the lives of those you serve.

What You'll Do

• Deliver one-on-one peer support and encouragement grounded in your own lived experience
• Leverage personal recovery knowledge to build trust, validate concerns, and guide individuals toward their goals
• Share information about mental health services, community resources, and recovery pathways
• Design, coordinate, and facilitate recovery-focused groups, workshops, and peer-led activities
• Work collaboratively with case managers and clinical teams to support holistic, integrated care
• Maintain accurate records and document participant progress and engagement
• Model hope and resilience through your own recovery example

What We're Looking For

• Current Certified Peer Support Specialist certification or equivalent credential
• Substantial lived experience in recovery from mental health or substance use challenges
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with natural warmth and empathy
• Strong active listening abilities and capacity to connect authentically with others
• Reliable, professional approach and commitment to full-time on-site work in Port Richmond
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical peer support practices
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development
