Horizon Peers is hiring a full-time Certified Peer Support Specialist in Vails Gate, Orange County, to walk alongside community members as they navigate difficult moments and move toward recovery.

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist with Horizon Peers, you will draw on your own lived experience to build trusting, mutual relationships with the people we serve. Based on-site in Vails Gate, Orange County, this role centers on connection: meeting individuals where they are, listening without judgment, and helping them find a path forward. Key Responsibilities

• Offer one-on-one emotional support and encouragement grounded in your personal recovery journey.
• Help individuals identify and connect with community resources and services that fit their needs.
• Plan and lead recovery-oriented activities that foster hope, accountability, and belonging.
• Build genuine, respectful peer relationships rooted in empathy and mutual understanding.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with the people you support and the broader care team.

Qualifications

• Active Peer Support certification (PEER SUPPORT CERT).
• Personal lived experience that informs your ability to relate to and guide others facing challenges.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with deep empathy and patience.
• A sincere commitment to recovery-oriented, person-centered support.
• Availability for a full-time, on-site position in Vails Gate, Orange County.
