About the Role

As an Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General in Wessington Springs, you'll partner closely with the Store Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly, deliver an outstanding shopping experience, and develop a high-performing store team. This position requires applicants to be 21 years of age or older.

What You'll Do

• Support the Store Manager in overseeing all store functions, including opening and closing procedures
• Lead, coach, and motivate store associates to meet and exceed customer service expectations
• Manage inventory levels, coordinate product receiving, and maintain accurate stock counts
• Execute Dollar General's merchandising standards and planogram resets to drive sales
• Oversee cash handling, register operations, and daily financial reconciliation
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members
• Uphold loss prevention policies and maintain a safe, clean store environment
• Step into the Store Manager role when needed, ensuring continuity of operations

What We're Looking For

• Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience in retail, customer service, or a supervisory capacity strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and hold associates accountable in a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
