Join Bryan Independent School District as an ARD Facilitator in our Special Education Department. This full-time position plays a critical role in ensuring students with disabilities receive the services and support they need to thrive academically and socially.
About the Role
As an ARD Facilitator, you will coordinate and facilitate Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings that drive special education decision-making across the district. This position bridges collaboration between educators, families, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet each student's unique needs.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate ARD committee meetings, ensuring all participants have meaningful voice in special education planning
- Guide the IEP development process in compliance with IDEA and Texas special education regulations
- Coordinate communication between campus administrators, special education teachers, general education staff, and parents
- Monitor implementation of IEPs and track progress toward student goals
- Support documentation and record-keeping for special education eligibility and services
- Help resolve concerns and facilitate problem-solving when students' needs shift
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold due process protections for students and families
What We're Looking For
- Familiarity with special education law, IEP processes, and ARD procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation
- Ability to remain objective and facilitate productive meetings in complex situations
- Commitment to supporting students with disabilities and their families
- Relevant certification, degree, or experience in special education, education administration, or related field preferred
