Equality Charter School in the Bronx, New York City, is hiring a Full-Time Middle School Dean to join our leadership team for the 26-27 school year. What This Role Involves

As Middle School Dean at Equality Charter School, you'll be a cornerstone of our middle school campus, creating and maintaining a positive, academically excellent environment where students can succeed. This leadership position centers on student discipline, behavioral support, mentorship, and culture-building across our middle school. You'll work directly with students, families, teachers, and staff to cultivate strong relationships and ensure every community member feels valued. Your contributions will directly impact how our middle school scholars develop academically and socially-emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle student discipline and behavioral concerns with consistency, fairness, and restorative methods
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to address academic and behavioral challenges supporting student success
• Develop meaningful relationships with students and families, acting as a trusted mentor and advocate
• Oversee attendance management, campus supervision, and implementation of school discipline policies
• Partner with leadership to shape, execute, and continuously improve school-wide behavior systems and expectations
• Champion student social-emotional growth, conflict resolution skills, and peer support initiatives
• Document student interactions, communicate proactively with families, and track progress and concerns

What You Bring

• Background working in educational environments, ideally in a student-facing, support, or administrative capacity
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, staff, and community members
• Ability to approach challenging situations with professionalism, compassion, and cultural awareness
• Dedication to equity-minded, restorative approaches to student discipline and behavior support
• Outstanding organizational abilities and careful attention to record-keeping and documentation
• Willingness and genuine interest in engaging with school events and community strengthening efforts
• Valid driver's license (preferred)
