The ARS Behavioral Aide Residential, AM (Part Time) role at AltaPointe Health Systems in Semmes, Mobile County invites compassionate individuals to assist adults living with serious and persistent mental illness in a supportive residential environment.

About the Role

This position is part of AltaPointe’s Adult Residential Services program, which provides intensive care, rehabilitation, and community support to over 200 consumers residing in supervised group homes. Working the morning shift, you will help deliver person‑centered care that promotes stability, skill development, and quality of life for residents.

What You'll Do

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, medication reminders, and meal preparation.
• Facilitate therapeutic and recreational programs designed to enhance social skills and independence.
• Monitor and document resident behavior, mood, and health status, reporting changes to nursing and clinical staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment by performing light housekeeping and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized service plans and discharge goals.
• Respond calmly to crisis situations, using de‑escalation techniques and following established emergency procedures.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred coursework or experience in human services, psychology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work empathetically with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Basic computer proficiency for recording observations and completing required documentation.
• Ability to pass background checks, health screenings, and any required training certifications.
• Flexibility to work varying morning hours as part of a part‑time schedule.
