Director, AI Architecture & Platforms – National Office (Remote)

As Director, AI Architecture & Platforms for YMCA of the USA, you'll lead the organization's enterprise artificial intelligence strategy from a remote position based in West Loop, Chicago. Role Overview

This director-level position establishes the technical and governance foundation for YMCA of the USA's AI capabilities. You'll own the enterprise architecture, set strategic direction for AI platform development, and ensure all initiatives meet security, compliance, and organizational values. Your leadership transforms emerging technologies into scalable solutions that drive impact across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement enterprise AI architecture that supports scalable, secure, and compliant platforms
• Develop and communicate the organization's technical strategy for generative AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics adoption
• Provide governance and oversight for AI initiatives, ensuring responsible implementation aligned with organizational values
• Lead cross-functional teams in delivering AI solutions that create measurable impact across YMCA's programs and operations
• Establish frameworks for data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in all AI systems
• Mentor technical teams and build internal AI capability across the organization

Requirements

• Deep expertise in AI architecture, machine learning systems, or advanced data platforms
• Proven track record leading enterprise technology strategy and large-scale platform initiatives
• Strong understanding of AI governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI practices
• Experience designing scalable, secure systems in regulated or mission-driven environments
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive and non-technical stakeholders
• Leadership experience building and managing high-performing technical teams
