AltaPointe Health Systems is hiring a full-time ARS Behavioral Aide Residential, AM in Semmes, Mobile County, and ASL fluency is required for this on-site role supporting adults in our Adult Residential Services program.
About the Role
As an ARS Behavioral Aide Residential working the AM shift, you will help deliver daily care and support within AltaPointe's group home setting in Semmes, Mobile County. The Adult Residential Services program serves individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness who benefit from social rehabilitation and ongoing community support. Because the people you assist communicate through American Sign Language, demonstrated ASL fluency is essential to performing this job effectively and compassionately.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on support to adult residents during the AM shift in a supervised group home environment.
- Communicate clearly with residents using American Sign Language to build trust and understanding.
- Assist with social rehabilitation activities and reinforce daily living and community support skills.
- Work alongside medical, nursing, and clinical staff to help carry out each resident's plan of care.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive living space that encourages resident dignity and progress.
Qualifications
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) — a firm requirement for this position.
- Availability to work the full-time AM schedule on-site in Semmes, Mobile County.
- Genuine interest in supporting adults experiencing serious and persistent mental illness.
- Ability to collaborate within a team that combines medical, nursing, and clinical care.
