Special Education Early Childhood Paraprofessional

What You'll Do

• Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting instructional materials for early childhood learners.
• Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group support to students with developmental, behavioral, or learning challenges.
• Help prepare classroom activities, organize learning stations, and maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Monitor student progress, record observations, and communicate relevant information to the teaching team.
• Support students during transitions, meals, outdoor play, and personal care routines as needed.
• Participate in professional development sessions and team meetings to enhance skills in special education practices.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a paraprofessional training program is preferred.
• Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood or special education setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering each child’s growth and independence.
• Basic knowledge of child development, behavior management strategies, and IEP processes.
• Reliability, good organizational skills, and the willingness to follow classroom routines and safety protocols.
