About the Role
The Senior Vice President of Affordable Housing Operations will partner with executive leadership to shape long‑term strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize performance of multifamily communities that serve low‑ and moderate‑income residents. What You'll Do
- Develop and implement operational policies that align with federal, state, and local affordable housing guidelines
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the affordable housing segment
- Direct performance monitoring, key metric analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with acquisition and development teams to integrate new properties into the operational platform
- Mentor and support regional directors and property managers to achieve service excellence and occupancy targets
- Ensure adherence to fair housing laws, accessibility standards, and resident safety protocols
- Represent the company in industry forums, advocacy groups, and partnerships with public agencies
- Drive technology adoption and process automation to enhance efficiency and resident experience
What We're Looking For
- Proven senior leadership experience in affordable housing or multifamily property management, preferably at a director or vice president level
- Deep knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, and other government‑subsidized housing programs
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in operating budgets, cash flow management, and cost control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders
- Track record of building high‑performing organizations through coaching, talent development, and change management
- Strategic thinker who can translate corporate goals into actionable operational plans
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public policy, urban planning, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPM, ARM) are a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices, diversity, equity, and inclusion in housing operations
