WSP is seeking a Senior Vice President and Civil Engineering Group Lead to lead our Transportation Business Line in East Irvine, Orange County. In this strategic leadership role, you'll direct civil engineering initiatives across California's transportation and infrastructure projects while shaping the vision and performance of your group.
About the Role
As Senior Vice President and Civil TEC Leader for our California Region, you'll oversee a dynamic civil engineering group within our Southern California offices. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with organizational leadership, requiring you to drive growth, ensure project excellence, and mentor a talented engineering team while advancing WSP's transportation and infrastructure portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Lead and develop a civil engineering group, setting strategic direction and fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
- Direct complex transportation and infrastructure projects across the California region, ensuring quality delivery and client satisfaction
- Manage business development initiatives to expand the Transportation Business Line's market presence and revenue growth
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, building technical capabilities within the group
- Establish and maintain client relationships with transportation agencies, departments of transportation, and infrastructure clients
- Oversee technical standards, project delivery methodologies, and engineering practices across the group
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align group performance with WSP's regional and national strategies
What We're Looking For
- PE license (Professional Engineer) in civil engineering, with extensive transportation or infrastructure project experience
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering groups or departments
- Deep expertise in transportation planning, design, or infrastructure delivery
- Strong business acumen, including P&L management and revenue growth
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and team members
- Track record of technical leadership and commitment to mentoring engineers
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
