Cook/ Chef Position for School Food Service

Join Maschio's Food Service as a full-time Cook in our Roseland, Essex County school food service kitchen. We're hiring an experienced culinary professional to prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for K-12 students Monday through Friday on a day shift schedule that includes summers off.

About the Role

This full-time cook position in our school food service operation offers a stable, family-friendly work schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift hours (6 hours daily), with no weekend or holiday obligations and time off during summer breaks to align with the school calendar.

What You'll Do

• Prepare both hot and cold meals that meet National School Lunch Program nutritional standards
• Execute established recipes and menus in compliance with NSLP guidelines
• Maintain strict food safety and food handling procedures in our school kitchen
• Use personal protective equipment appropriately throughout each shift
• Work collaboratively with our school food service team to deliver quality meals to students

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated cooking experience in food service
• Experience working in K-12 school food service (preferred)
• ServSafe® food safety certification (preferred)
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen protocols
• Ability to follow recipes and menus accurately and consistently
• Reliable attendance and a collaborative team approach
