Addon is hiring a Site Safety Health Officer for our Washington, D.C. location. This is a full-time position dedicated to protecting personnel and maintaining compliance on federal military projects.
About the Role
As a Site Safety Health Officer at Addon, you'll lead safety and health initiatives across federal military projects. The SSHO role is mission-critical: you'll ensure all personnel work in a safe, healthy environment while meeting federal compliance standards and protecting project continuity.
What You'll Do
- Conduct daily safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and non-compliance issues
- Develop, implement, and oversee site-wide safety protocols and procedures
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, federal safety standards, and military-specific safety requirements
- Train and educate site personnel on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and hazard recognition
- Maintain comprehensive safety records, reports, and documentation
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership to integrate safety into all operations
- Conduct hazard assessments and develop mitigation strategies for high-risk activities
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Safety Health Officer or equivalent safety professional on construction, federal, or military projects
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, federal safety regulations, and military safety protocols
- Excellent communication and training skills; ability to influence teams at all levels
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections, identify hazards, and take immediate corrective action
- High attention to detail and commitment to documentation and compliance
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
