About the Role
As a Student Nurse Technician in our Medicine StepDown unit, you'll work under the supervision of registered nurses to provide essential patient care support. This role offers invaluable clinical experience for nursing students pursuing careers in healthcare. Operating on a flexible per diem schedule with approximately 16 hours per month and one paid holiday per year, this position allows you to gain professional experience while maintaining your academic focus.
What You'll Do
- Assist registered nurses with direct patient care activities, including vital signs monitoring and patient hygiene support
- Help maintain a clean and safe patient environment while adhering to infection control standards
- Document observations and communicate patient status changes to nursing staff
- Respond to patient requests and contribute to a compassionate care experience
- Support unit operations through clerical responsibilities and supply management as needed
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient Medicine StepDown unit operations
