Join WSP's Earth & Environment Team as a Part-Time Asbestos Project Monitor at our Manhattan office in Greeley Square. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a technical representative on active asbestos abatement projects while contributing to solutions that meet our clients' environmental and safety objectives.
About the Role
As an Asbestos Project Monitor, you will support WSP's environmental services in New York by providing on-site technical oversight during asbestos abatement and removal projects. You'll work directly with project teams and contractors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices, playing a key role in protecting worker safety and public health across Manhattan and the surrounding region.
What You'll Do
- Serve as WSP's asbestos technician representative on active abatement and demolition projects
- Monitor contractor compliance with asbestos handling, containment, and disposal protocols
- Conduct site inspections and document project activities according to regulatory requirements
- Communicate project updates to clients and internal teams
- Support sampling, testing, and remediation protocols as needed
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of asbestos identification, health hazards, and abatement procedures
- Familiarity with EPA and New York State asbestos regulations and guidelines
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project sites
