About the Role

As a Special Education Teacher at Rebecca School, you'll play a central role in creating meaningful learning experiences for students with diverse developmental needs. Using evidence-based teaching strategies and a student-centered approach, you'll work in a supportive environment where relationships and emotional well-being are as important as academic progress. What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement tailored educational plans that meet each student's unique learning style and developmental stage
  • Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that fosters emotional growth and meaningful peer connections
  • Collaborate with special education specialists, therapists, and families to support whole-child development
  • Use the DIRFloortime® model and other evidence-based methods to engage students in purposeful learning
  • Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adjust instruction based on individual needs
  • Maintain detailed records and communicate regularly with families about their child's development
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education

What We're Looking For

  • Valid special education teaching certification or license
  • Experience working with students with neurodevelopmental delays or autism spectrum disorder
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and interdisciplinary teams
  • Patience, empathy, and genuine commitment to supporting students' emotional and academic growth
  • Familiarity with DIRFloortime® or willingness to learn this model
  • Ability to create and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
