Surgery Scheduler Coordinator

CommonSpirit Health is hiring a Surgery Scheduler Coordinator for our Lexington, Fayette County facility. In this full-time position, you'll play a vital role in our surgical operations, managing complex scheduling systems, coordinating resource allocation, and maintaining the data infrastructure that keeps our surgical services operating at peak efficiency.

About the Role

As a Surgery Scheduler Coordinator, you'll be an essential operational leader responsible for orchestrating the intricate details of surgical scheduling and resource coordination. Your daily work ensures that operating rooms, surgical personnel, equipment, and support services are perfectly aligned to deliver exceptional patient care and maintain our facility's surgical schedule.

What You'll Do

• Manage and coordinate surgical schedules across departments, optimizing operating room utilization and surgical staff availability
• Enter, update, and maintain accurate surgical case data and scheduling information in our operational systems
• Generate and distribute surgical schedules to surgeons, nursing teams, and support departments
• Oversee schedule templates and coordinate modifications to streamline workflow and improve resource efficiency
• Respond to schedule changes and cancellations by communicating updates to clinical and administrative stakeholders
• Monitor equipment and facility availability to ensure all scheduled procedures have necessary resources
• Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts through collaboration with surgical leadership and department heads

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in surgical scheduling, healthcare operations, or clinical administrative coordination
• Strong organizational abilities with excellent attention to detail in managing complex, multi-faceted schedules
• Demonstrated proficiency with scheduling software, database systems, and healthcare information technology
• Outstanding communication skills and proven ability to coordinate effectively across clinical and administrative departments
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet demanding operational deadlines
• Familiarity with surgical procedures and healthcare operations is highly valued
