Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) Personal Financial Counselor, – Washington

Magellan Health is recruiting an Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) in Oak Harbor, Island County, Washington to provide personal financial counseling to military service members and their families. This is a part-time position supporting military installations during periods of high demand, staffing transitions, and post-deployment events.

About the Role

As an Assignment Ready Counselor, you'll step in to deliver critical financial guidance to active-duty service members, military families, and veterans at military installations. You'll work during surge periods, coverage transitions, and temporary staffing needs, ensuring personnel have access to the financial counseling resources they need to achieve stability and long-term financial security.

What You'll Do

• Deliver one-on-one and group financial counseling sessions to military service members and their families
• Assess individual financial situations and develop personalized counseling action plans
• Educate clients on budgeting, debt management, savings strategies, and financial planning
• Support service members during post-deployment transitions and major life events
• Maintain detailed client records and track progress toward financial goals
• Partner with military community resource teams and support services

What We're Looking For

• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
• Knowledge of personal finance, budgeting principles, or financial counseling practices
• Experience working with military populations or underserved communities
• Flexibility to adjust to part-time, on-demand scheduling needs
• Professional demeanor and cultural competence
• Prior counseling, case management, or financial advisory experience preferred
