Innovation Lead – Office of the CTO

Extreme Networks, a leader in cloud-driven networking solutions serving over 50,000 customers worldwide, is seeking an Innovation Lead for the Office of the CTO in Raleigh, Wake County. This full-time role offers the opportunity to shape the future of enterprise networking technology while working alongside industry experts driving digital transformation at scale.

About the Role

As Innovation Lead in the Office of the CTO, you'll drive the exploration and evaluation of emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and industry trends that inform Extreme Networks' product strategy and technical roadmap. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll balance strategic vision with practical execution, identifying opportunities to accelerate customer value and competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving networking landscape.

What You'll Do

• Research and assess emerging networking technologies, cloud platforms, and infrastructure trends to identify strategic opportunities
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to evaluate new solutions and validate technical feasibility
• Develop innovation frameworks and pilot programs to test new concepts and capabilities
• Synthesize technical insights into actionable recommendations for the leadership team and broader organization
• Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, research institutions, and technology vendors
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, including the CTO and executive leadership

What We're Looking For

• Deep expertise in networking technologies, cloud architecture, or related infrastructure domains
• Proven track record in innovation, research, or strategic technology assessment roles
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear insights
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Self-directed approach to learning and exploring new technologies and industry developments
• Experience collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries and managing competing priorities
