About the Role
As a Police Officer with Burnet CISD, you'll serve as a dedicated security professional responsible for protecting our school communities. Working independently and collaboratively with school administration and law enforcement agencies, you'll patrol district facilities, respond to incidents, and enforce local, county, and state laws to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on campus.
What You'll Do
- Conduct regular patrols of school buildings, grounds, and district properties to deter and prevent criminal activity, theft, and vandalism
- Respond promptly to security concerns, emergencies, and incidents involving students, staff, or visitors
- Enforce all applicable laws, ordinances, and school district policies to maintain order and safety
- Investigate incidents and document findings in detailed reports
- Build positive relationships with students and staff to create a trusting, secure school environment
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when needed
- Monitor access to buildings and assist with traffic management during school events
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in dynamic situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness and ability to respond quickly to emergencies
- Professional demeanor and commitment to student safety and well-being
- Relevant police certification or security experience preferred
