About the Role
As Assistant Athletic Coach for Girls Basketball, you'll work alongside our head coach to deliver excellent instruction, mentorship, and leadership to student-athletes. This position combines coaching expertise with educational impact, helping young women develop athletic skills, teamwork, and character both on and off the court.
What You'll Do
- Assist with daily practice planning, skill development, and team conditioning
- Provide direct coaching instruction and performance feedback to players
- Support game preparation, strategy development, and competition logistics
- Monitor player safety, enforce rules, and maintain a positive team environment
- Contribute to recruiting, player evaluation, and team communications
- Help foster sportsmanship, discipline, and academic accountability among athletes
- Support team travel, equipment management, and facility maintenance as needed
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience playing or coaching basketball at the high school level or higher
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, plays, and competitive strategy
- Ability to teach, motivate, and communicate effectively with young athletes
- Commitment to player safety, development, and academic success
- Valid driver's license (required for team transportation)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and tournament days during the season
- High school diploma or equivalent minimum; bachelor's degree preferred
