Join U.S. Xpress - OTR as a CDL-A Company Driver in Bainbridge. We're hiring full-time over-the-road drivers with 1-5 months of professional experience to operate dry van freight across the United States.
About the Role
This is a full-time, over-the-road position offering flexibility between solo and team driving opportunities. Based in Bainbridge, you'll manage long-distance dry van routes on a consistent 12 days out/2 days home schedule, giving you predictable time to rest and reconnect with home.
What You'll Do
- Operate a commercial truck hauling dry van freight on interstate and highway routes
- Maintain DOT compliance through accurate logbook entries and vehicle inspections
- Communicate with dispatch to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness
- Meet delivery deadlines while prioritizing safety and professionalism
- Work independently as a solo driver or collaborate with a team driving partner
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 1-5 months of professional truck driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT medical certification and background screening
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Reliability and professional approach to over-the-road work
- Willingness to work solo or with a team driving partner
Compensation & Benefits
U.S. Xpress - OTR offers competitive compensation for CDL-A drivers:
- Solo Drivers: 56–60 cents per mile (based on experience), plus $2,000 sign-on bonus, $1,400 guaranteed weekly minimum, averaging 2,000 miles per week
- Team Drivers: 72–80 cents per mile split (based on experience), plus $5,000 sign-on bonus, averaging 5,000 miles per week
- Top-performing solo drivers in the top 20% earn $1,650 or more weekly
